Wargaming invites a 3D Artist to join its top AAA project - World of Tanks!

It's a two-times Guinness award-winning vehicle action game with a 110-million army of loyal fans. World of Tanks is a cultural phenomenon that has entertained players worldwide for around 12 years!

We believe we have a solid and involved team that continually strives to be on the edge of the gaming industry. We are extremely passionate about Art and always looking for innovative ways and approaches to bring our ideas and vision to World of Tanks gamers.

As a 3D Artist, you will be engaged in the production of all the necessary objects for our maps and hangars and work closely with the best professionals in the industry.

What will you do?

  • Full cycle of creating 3d objects for maps and hangars:

      creating draft models, low poly and high poly for baking

      mapping and texturing

      creating LODs and havoc destructions

      export and setup in the game engine

  • Collaborating with colleagues from other teams: VFX artists, animators, technical artists, game designers, etc.
  • Create and customize materials and decals.
  • Deal with the tiles and decals, high-poly photogrammetry objects.
  • Create procedural assets in Houdini.
  • Implement Houdini pipeline for object destruction and/or procedural building creation.
  • Assist and support colleagues with procedural pipeline.
  • Implement Houdini to increase quality and possibilities for our environment art.
  • Develop tools for procedural content generation.
  • Participate in the development of new tools and technologies that meet the requirements of our art departments.
  • Create and maintain pipeline documentation.
  • Engage in performance optimization and bug fixes.

What are we looking for?

  • 3+ years at 3D Environment Artist position in game industry.
  • Good modelling and texturing skills.
  • Knowledge of low-poly optimization, UV-mapping, creating LODs.
  • Strong skills in procedural modelling and asset assembling in Houdini (also considering Blender Geometry Nodes).
  • Understanding of procedural pipeline.
  • Ability to create destruction simulation in Houdini (also considering Blender Geometry Nodes).
  • Ability to communicate productively, perceive feedback constructively.
  • Ability and willing to teach the team with new pipelines.
  • Ability to adapt to new tools and tech.
  • Initiative, resourcefulness.

What additional skills will help you stand out?

  • Basic skills in Level Art and understanding of lighting
  • Understanding and experience with the Photogrammetry process.
  • Knowledge and skills in Substance Designer, Marvelous Designer.
  • Art education.
