Job Description
- Collaborate with the Creative Director, design team, and writing team to develop the game's narrative
- Plan, prototype, and implement narrative content, texts, and dialogue
- Assist the design team with the planning of scenario flows
- Pioneer new pipelines and techniques, while actively improving existing practices
- Monitor narrative content developed by artists and assist with game asset analyses
- Prepare histories, backstories, and contexts for game characters, factions, organizations, and environments
- Approve narrative submissions together with the Creative Director and track / schedule the narrative scope
- Make arrangements for motion capture and voiceover performances, data management, casting input, and participation
- Support the preparation of narrative-related materials for marketing communications and promotions
- Communicate the game's narrative across all departments
- Ensure all developers have a relevant understanding of the game's narrative
- Promote the importance of adding creative depth to the game's narrative
- Establish the narrative’s tone, maintain the game's narrative consistency, and successfully share the project's themes and vision
Education/Skills
Qualifications and Experience
- 3+ years of relevant industry experience
- Perfect spoken and written English
- Bachelor of Arts degree or higher (or equivalent) is an advantage
- Experience leading a small team is an advantage
Technical Knowledge and Skills
- Excellent communication skills; able to work as part of a team
- Capacity to work independently and proactively
- Basic understanding of all aspects of game development and design
- Thorough understanding of narrative structures and the art of storytelling
- Expertise in preparing clear and readable documents, as well as presentation materials
- Knowledge of new developments and contemporary innovations in the field of narrative design
- Familiarity with Articy or similar narrative design software is an advantage
Candidates for this position would benefit from the following:
- Experience in narrative design and developing open-world games
- Experience in coordinating and participating in motion capture performances and voiceover recording sessions
- An interest or rudimentary understanding of military operations and technology
- Previous experience with games in the Arma franchise
