Gray Zone Warfare has been under development in our bustling offices for more than two years. This new game is an immersive tactical FPS with a maximum focus on realism, immersive gameplay, and stunning graphics powered by Unreal Engine 5. We're on the hunt for a top-notch Technical Animator who's not just savvy with the ins and outs of technical animation in today's cutting-edge AAA games but also a pro at tackling unexpected and one-of-a-kind hurdles. We're after someone who's got an eye for the big picture but can also zoom in on the details. You'll need to be comfortable mapping out scalable pipelines while also rolling up your sleeves to fix things on the fly for rapid prototyping. And hey, if you're a quick study when it comes to new systems and tech, that's a major plus.
But here's the kicker: we need someone who's not just reactive but proactive, someone who takes the initiative and thrives in a collaborative environment. If that sounds like you, then we definitely want to chat.
WHAT IS YOUR MISSION?
- Helping out with making those fancy character rigs super complex and super efficient. Making sure they bend and move just right, and keeping those rigging and skinning workflows running smoothly as butter.
- Diving into Unreal Engine to set and develop gameplay animation blueprints.
- Interdepartmental cooperation to establish, refine, and optimize animation pipelines and procedures.
- Working closely with the animation team to make sure their work seamlessly transitions from their software to our game engine.
- Being the go-to person when it comes to getting those final and mid-stage rigs into the game.
- Creating animation and art tools for artists and animators using relevant scripting languages such as Python.
- Keeping/managing our online animation databases, including cleaning up obsolete data and optimizing workflow.
- Being the bridge between the animation crew and the folks in Design and Engineering. Helping them understand each other better and sort out any tech issues that might pop up.
- Generating and setting up assets for our animation systems. Think overlays, mirror tables, you name it. And designing how all these animations flow together using visual scripting tools.
WHO WILL FIT IN WITH US?
- An avid fan of online multiplayer games who is fully devoted to the world of gaming.
- Familiar with Unreal Engine/Control Rig/Animation Blueprints
- Expert in 3ds Max in Rigging, Skinning, Scripting, and building animation systems such as Animation Blueprints, Mecanim, Morpheme, or comparable systems.
- Minimum of 7 years experience working in the games industry with a focus on animation game systems.
- Comfortable with industry-standard scripting languages like Python, MEL script, LUA, etc.
- Familiar with Havok and/or FBX SDK
- Willing to live in Brno, Czech Republic, the best (gaming) place in the world, and meet all the MadFingers in our office.
- Shipped AAA game.
WHAT MAKES US HAPPY A LITTLE MORE
- Degree in Computer Animation, Computer Science, or related degree.
- Comfortable with version control software, particularly Perforce.
- Familiar with asset/Task tracking clients like JIRA and Shotgun.
