We are looking for a Lead Programmer to join our gameplay team either in Prague or Mníšek pod Brdy. You will guide your team of programmers, implementing and expanding gameplay features for our flagship project. This includes solving technical challenges, collaborating with multi-disciplinary teams of enthusiastic game developers, and helping to enhance the experience of our players. We are interested in candidates that are self-driven, have a passion for what they’re doing, and possess a good sense of humor.   • Guide and mentor the programming team (with the help of senior programmers) 
  • Organize the programming team’s workload in tandem with the producers 
  • Guide and advise designers and technical designers on technical implementations (feasibility, estimation, etc.) 
  • Help the programming team to grow; guide them in their development 
  • Hire new programmers with the help of recruiters 
  • Participate in development and / or bug fixes 
  • Help build the game’s systems and interactions 
  • Improve workflows and spread knowledge of new techniques 
  • Report to the Project Lead 
  • Provide a monthly statement of work 

Ideal candidate would have

  • 5+ years of relevant industry experience 
  • Excellent knowledge of English 
  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science or related discipline (not mandatory) 
  • Experience in an international company is an advantage 
  • Excellent knowledge of the game industry and its relevant technologies 

Technical knowledge and soft skills 

  • Good knowledge of C++, OOP 
  • Good knowledge of game engine components (rendering, AI, gameplay, etc.) 
  • Knowledge of the backend architecture of online games (online services, console ecosystem, dedicated servers) 
  • Knowledge of mathematics (linear algebra, etc.) 
  • Routine knowledge of programming tools (Visual Studio, SVN, etc.) 
  • Excellent communication and organization skills 
  • Team player
